Affiliate Program
Enroll in Liberty’s program, take your general academic and aviation academic courses online, and then fly with Sterling! Students have the potential to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in as little as two years, depending on how quickly you complete your online courses, how often you fly, your ability to pass the required FAA exams and other factors, such as weather.
With this relationship, students of Liberty and Sterling can be offered the following benefits:
This program allows the student to attend Liberty University via online classes, attend Sterling Flight Training locally, and graduate from the University at the main campus in Lynchburg Virginia!
Did you know high school students may begin flight training while still in high school? You have two options:
Option 1:
Enroll directly into the Private Pilot Certification Course at Sterling and complete your Private Pilot. Then you may enroll in Liberty University upon completion of the certification and graduation from high school. Liberty will grant you full credit for all private courses (12 credits) and you may begin instrument training. (Students cannot conduct any Instrument training outside of a Liberty University Program and still qualify for the Restricted-ATP (our Dual Enrollment program counts as an approved program).
Option 2:
Enroll in Liberty University’s High School Dual Enrollment program. Here the student can take Liberty’s Private and Instrument courses just as a college student and earn college credit. You are under all the same requirements as a student in the college program (this includes flight fee protocols, assignment requirements, etc.) The advantage to the Dual Enrollment program is you can use those credits towards the 60 credits required for the Restricted-ATP and there is a significant tuition discount.
